Reporting to the Senior Lawyer and Property Advisor, this senior individual contributor role is responsible for leading Council’s strategic property activities. The position focuses on complex and commercial property matters, and may include some leasing, access, road, and land matters.
The Strategic Property Lead may manage acquisitions, disposals and surplus property as well as consider opportunities for strategic property opportunities for Council including joint ventures and development opportunities. The role will also oversee major facilities or projects of organisational significance and provide advice to both internal and external stakeholders.
This position plays an important role in lifting the maturity of the property function. While there are no direct reports, the role provides leadership mentoring and guidance to the broader property team and works closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation. The role may assist in some leasing and licencing matters in collaboration with the broader Legal and Property Team.
This opportunity will suit a commercially minded property professional with experience in complex property transactions who is comfortable presenting to senior leaders and executive groups. Candidates from government are encouraged to apply, however, experience from other large asset based organisations including universities, health or similar sectors will be well regarded.
