Reporting directly to the new Chief Executive Officer, the General Manager Infrastructure and Environment is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and leads a broad portfolio responsible for infrastructure planning, delivery and environmental stewardship across the municipality. The role plays a central part in guiding how Council plans for growth, coordinates infrastructure investment and ensures the services that support Cardinia Shire’s communities continue to evolve alongside the region’s expansion.

Operating within a complex and dynamic local government environment, the position requires a leader who can balance long term strategic planning with the practical realities of delivering services across a rapidly expanding municipality. The successful candidate will bring strong commercial and organisational insight, the ability to lead diverse teams and the confidence to engage effectively with Councillors, community stakeholders and government partners.

Cardinia Shire Council is seeking an experienced or emerging executive leader from the local government sector who brings energy, drive and a genuine appetite for challenge. You will understand the governance, community and political context within which Councils operate and bring demonstrated leadership experience and ideally within infrastructure, environment or related service portfolios.

The successful candidate will be passionate about empowering teams, supporting leaders and fostering a culture where people are trusted and enabled to do their best work while delivering exceptional outcomes for the organisation and the community.
