W&Co Search is proud to partner with Frankston City Council in the recruitment of its Manager City Positioning & Investment Attraction.

Frankston is experiencing significant city-shaping change, supported by a clear focus on jobs, housing, investment and positioning the city as an attractive place to do business, live and visit.

Reporting to the Director City Advancement and contributing to Council’s senior leadership team, you will lead a multidisciplinary portfolio spanning economic development and investment attraction, government relations and advocacy, strategic property and developer engagement, destination marketing and tourism.

As Frankston’s strategic front door for investment and development opportunities, you will build productive relationships with investors, developers, government agencies and industry partners. You will identify and progress opportunities, connect proponents with Council’s planning and delivery functions and present a clear and coordinated investment proposition for the city.

Internally, you will establish direction across the portfolio, strengthen operating rhythm and accountability and build the capability and culture required to deliver Council’s ambitions. This visible role requires sound judgement, political awareness and confidence working across executive, Council and community stakeholders.

You will bring a strong grounding in economic development, investment attraction or commercially focused city growth. Equally important is proven people leadership, including the ability to set expectations, coach leaders, build accountability and address difficult performance matters constructively. Local government experience is not essential. Relevant backgrounds may include state government, economic development or investment agencies, strategic property and development, tourism and destination organisations or advisory environments involving complex public-sector stakeholders. You will demonstrate commercial judgement, stakeholder credibility and the breadth to lead across several professional disciplines.
